Meet Katie doyle, LMFT
Ready to feel comfortable in your own skin again?
Do you remember a time when life wasn’t a struggle? When you could trust yourself without overthinking or planning. When you felt confident and eager for tomorrow.
Don’t you wish you had tools to make today more like that?
You’re in the right place.
I want to know your pain.
I had postpartum depression and anxiety as well as grieved my brother who suddenly died at age 22. I know the desperation and anxiety you likely feel. I know the struggle between what is happening now and how great it could be “if only..” The tiny sliver of hope that is quickly squashed by thoughts that it won’t ever get better, how could it? It can and it will! I can help you. Please tell me your story.
My style
I believe that each of us is wired for healing.
We have two basic responses to unpleasant events: to sooth or to solve. Neither are right or wrong but they do impact our experiences. Soothing (Acceptance) doesn’t mean we are pleased, it means we are ready to stop struggling to solve something that is not a solvable problem (death, emotions, a partner no longer loving us).
Knowing your values can lead to a meaningful life. You will learn to let your values guide your behaviors rather than thoughts and emotions. If you don’t know what you value, that’s OK! I teach values clarification skills so you can identify what is most important.
Through mindfulness and grounding, you will find space for difficult thoughts and emotions without being controlled by them. This will bring calm and reduce anxiety, but more importantly it will get you closer to the life you want.
My guiding values
Compassion
Therapy with me is driven by my genuine desire to connect and hear your pain. Your pain is not “too much” for me. I deeply care about helping people through perinatal struggles, anxiety, and grief.
Trust
Therapy is a safe space to explore your darkest, scary thoughts. Whatever you are going through is welcome, all judgments are left outside our room! Nothing is “too much” or “wrong.”
Safety
Talking about emotions can make them feel more intense. We will make decisions together on how deep we go and set healthy boundaries.
Transparency
I want you to feel comfortable and welcome. We will be building a unique relationship where your needs are most important. We will discuss our plan together and you are in charge.
